EMAS Evangelical Medical Aid Society is a Christian, interdenominational, charitable, non-governmental organization (NGO) based in Canada and Hong Kong, that operates within the timing and with the resources provided by God.

Celebrating 60 YEARS of Service:
For 60 years, EMAS has been assisting with healthcare initiatives overseas, initially by sending medical supplies and equipment to church related healthcare centres. Over time, this evolved to include sending healthcare professionals, for both education of national professionals and hands-on treatment of patients and surgery. EMAS also assists overseas partners with a diverse variety of health-related projects, including a feeding centre, provision of clean water and assistance with existing clinics. EMAS responds as needs and opportunities arise in countries around the world.
EMAS History and Operations:
EMAS was founded in Canada in 1948. From the mid-80's to 2007, EMAS has worked closely with the Christian Medical & Dental Society of Canada. The work in Asia, Africa, South America, the Caribbean and Europe has now grown significantly. Today we need leaders to make contacts and take teams into new locations. There may be a place for you on EMAS medical-dental teams.
EMAS works overseas partnering with organizations whose statement of faith is compatible with ours. EMAS coordinates medical-dental programs in which there is both a clinical and spiritual aspect. We believe in a team concept of mission. We define the term "medical-dental" to include team members with a broad range of skills that contribute to the specific purpose and goal of each program. We endeavor to maintain professional competence.
EMAS works internationally with the disadvantaged. Our relationship to those we serve is covenantal, ensuring the dignity of the individual made in the image of God. We partner with Christian organizations in developing countries that have a vision for providing health care to their communities. We attempt to build up and nurture the programs they initiate through the provision of continuing medical education. Program sustainability is our goal.
