EMAS has a number of projects in China,
Background History It all began in 1986, when the Friends of China invited an EMAS team of three to visit. A team of 15 visited again in 1987. Since then, at least one team has visited hospitals in Eastern China every year. In 1991, at the request of World Vision, an exploratory team visited the region of Ningxia in Northwest China. This was the beginning of an ever-enlarging outreach in this area, which now includes the adjacent provinces of Shaanxi and Gansu. Another program was established in 1994, in the province of Yunnan, which included skills upgrading for practitioners, medical and dental care, surgery, post-op and rehab teams, providing seamless patient care. In 2007, the three teams were comprised of 73 participants. Eventually our outreach was expanded to include the Guangdong Province. |
