Typhoon Hits Southern China.
Thousands Evacuated.

The destructive typhoon that hit the Philippines has now hit the city of Sanya on Hainan island in southern China, with 78 miles per hour winds (126 km). Tens of thousands of people have been evacuated, but only one death has been reported so far. Flights and ferries have been cancelled. Almost 40,000 people in Hainan, and more than 20,000 people in Guangdong have been evacuated as they are in the immediate path of the typhoon.
November 2009
We travel to this area with a team of usually 10–12, mainly consisting of medical/dental professionals. We serve factory workers (mostly ages 17–30), and villagers in the southern part of the Guangdong province.
Healthcare benefits are not available to factory workers and villagers at present. We try to meet their needs, both physically and spiritually.
The team also participates in the Family Practice Residents’ Training Program at our Christian partner clinic.
Financial Support and Prayer Support are needed for:
–
Medical Resident Training Program $800/month per resident;
– Dental materials and supplies for mission trips $500/year;
– Medication distributed at clinics $20/patients.
Training Physicians of Faith is essential
for generations to come.

November 2008
In partnership with a local Christian medical clinic, EMAS provides short-term medical and dental services yearly in this region. We visit factory workers and villages, in the Pearl Delta area, bringing healthcare assistance to the poor. We also support a Resident Training Program.
October 2007
In partnership with Hope Medical Group of Macau the team serves in both Cantonese and Mandarin areas, where tens of thousands are in need of healthcare. This includes villages, factory workers and small hospitals with antiquated equipment. We do mostly clinical work (medical and dental), teaching and public health education.
