In the southern provinces, EMAS works in collaboration with the Yunnan Red Cross. There are always new regions opening up, in need of assistance, in the area of healthcare. Dental problems are endemic in this sugar cane growing region where no one ever sees a dentist.

Summary - December 2011

Yunnan Project
EMAS sends a number of teams to this region including a surgical team, a dental team, a medical team and a psychiatry team. They conduct clinics in remote villages and at the hospital. They care for patients and do training for local doctors.

The dental team visits elementary schools and treats children, teaching them the basics of oral hygiene. Many people in this region, have never seen a dentist and suffer from serious dental problems.

Kunming Project
The China South team shines a Light of Hope on children, by operating on injuries, burns, cleft lips, cleft palates, congenital deformities etc. Corrective surgery often changes their lives dramatically. Funds are needed for hospital charges, equipment, medication, hospital food, rehab and the local prosthesis factory.

Yunnan Project

November 2009

We have a number of teams in this region, including surgery, dental, medical, psychiatry and ophthalmology teams. We conduct clinics in remote villages and at the local hospital. We treat patients and teach at a nursing school.

As most people never see a dentist, in this region, dental problems are widespread. The dental team visits elementary schools, treating children and teaching them oral hygiene. Funds are still needed for the medical team and the community psychiatric care team.

Caring for needy people, changes our lives, as well as theirs.

Corrective surgery can change someone’s life. The team operates on many children with injuries, burns, cleft lips, cleft palate, a congenital deformity or in need of a traumatic amputation. Funds are needed for hospital charges, equipment, medication, hospital food, the rehab program and the local prosthesis factory.
