"Professors and doctors in Congo are crying out for relationship with their western colleagues. At the same time they are asking for help for universities like the UCKIN medical school to graduate competent doctors. Mission trip opportunities are available. The project also promotes student sponsorship and raising special endowments to support the UCKIN faculty of medicine office"

I will be in Congo Nov 3-14. It will be a short trip but, I pray it’ll be an effective one. I will be wearing a number of 'hats' and accomplishing the following:

1. AMC Conference
   The AMC is a group of young doctors in Kinshasa that put on teaching conferences on a regular basis. What we like to do is involve university professors along with visiting professors, preferably from EMAS circles. This time the conference will be on November 10 and, will hopefully include Dr. Mark Shelly from Rochester, New York (Infectious Disease professor).
   
   

2. UCKIN teaching day
   The students at UCKIN will put on a teaching day, at the university, involving mainly Dr. Shelly, myself and likely two other local professors. The topic is still to be decided. We’re expecting about 50 participants.
   
   

3. Rounds
   Dr. Shelly and I will be spending some time at certain clinics doing rounds with local students and doctors.
   
   

4. Consultation
   Dr. Shelly and I will spend some time with the UCKIN administration discussing the medical school. Discussion topics will include curriculum, resources for the students and support for the faculty of medicine office.
