Team Members Needed for Guatemala

A new outreach opportunity exists, for a small team to go to Rabinal, Baja Verapaz, in the northern part of Guatemala.

Family doctors and nurses are needed to serve poor patients in a rural area located 175 km from the city. This town only has one government-run clinic, operational 24/7 with very poor services. There are no dentists in the area.

The people are bilingual, speaking Spanish and Mayan. Translators will be provided if needed. Volunteers will assist with logistics. Low-cost private shuttles are available. Timing is flexible; 2–3 weeks suggested.

The main economic activities in this region are agriculture and handicrafts.
The weather varies from 23º to 35º depending on the time of year.
The rainy season is from May to October.
