There are many poor rural communities in Vietnam. Many people cannot afford medical care and many children are at risk. The existing healthcare services are in much need of improvement. |

Our annual medical mission to Vietnam began in 1995. Every year, a group of doctors, dentists, nurses, and volunteers goes on a two-week trip to Vietnam, treating poor patients in remote areas, working with local doctors, training at major medical centres, and helping hospitals with equipment.
November 2010 Serving in several provinces, the Vietnam team treats thousands of patients, setting up medical clinics, performing eye surgeries, dental care, dispensing medications, eye glasses, food and clothing. Over 500 heart surgeries on children have been sponsored by the EMAS team. There is still a long waiting list. The team also supports a doctor at a charity clinic. They have given grants to four people to undergo chiropractic training and funded their chiropractic clinic in Battambang, Cambodia. Many thanks to all team members and donors

July 2008 Medical Aid for Vietnam has completed another successful medical mission, with a team of 76 professionals and volunteers, working in several provinces. The mission was divided into three smaller teams which served more than 8,000 patients, with medical treatment, eye surgeries, dental check-ups and extractions, giving out free medications (donated by CMMB Catholic Medical Mission Board), eye glasses, food and clothes. At the convent of the Sisters of the Visitation in Bai Dau, Hue, we met about 30 children whose heart surgeries we sponsored. What a blessing to see these children now happy and living normal lives. Over the past five years, we have sponsored more than 500 children for heart surgeries, and yet the waiting list still keeps getting longer. The Delta Team visited an orphanage where we spent time with 130 children. At every site we visited, we encountered people who needed further medical attention. At times, we were able to arrange for them to go to the hospital for treatment. But in many cases, we couldn’t help because our funds were running out. In addition to the medical outreach mission, Medical Aid for Vietnam also brought assistance to others less fortunate:
In Canada In U.S.A.
During a previous mission, we brought a portable phaco machine for cataract surgery and donated it to the Nha Trang hospital. We also donated implants and other supplies to enable the local doctors to do free cataract surgeries for the poor. We ask for your prayers, your support and ask that you to let others know about the Vietnam medical mission. Thank you and God bless,
Since 1996, new programs have been developed in Vietnam. We have been providing medical aid to various Vietnamese hospitals, supporting the local church by supporting its medical outreach programs, and spreading the love of God to the Vietnamese people, both in Vietnam and in Vancouver. In 2006, the team totalled 47, including several from other countries. As a result, two teams were sent in 2007. For more information see: |
