On April 9th, 2022 our AGM and leadership retreat was held virtually, with leadership and staff zooming in from all across the country.

Here are some changes to the EMAS Canada Board:

Krista Waring, is on a leave of absence and Christopher Wang will be treasurer.

Sally Patrick has taken over the role of Board Secretary.

We wish Janet Greidanus all the best for her retirement after years of service on the board.

Janet Greidanus, D.Min., (pictured above) has worked as a nurse, a hospital chaplain, and as a counsellor for students at The King’s University in Edmonton. In 1999, together with an art therapist, Janet founded the Expressive Arts Bereavement Support Program for children and teens and their families at Pilgrims Hospice, Edmonton, where she worked until 2006. She works as a freelance writer and is Associate Faculty at St. Stephen’s College in Edmonton. Janet’s husband, Thomas, is the team leader for the EMAS Ecuador Team, Operation Esperanza.

What is the role of the EMAS Canada Board of Directors?

Our Board Chair, Emile Woo talks about what the function of the board is and why they serve as they do. Take a look:
