When God calls you to join His EMAS China West medical mission, not as a hygienist, not as a pharmacist, not as a physician, and not as a dentist, but as His servants, how would you respond?
Would you, as a health care professional, still be willing to join His mission?
This year, the China West team obeyed His calling and continued His mission in June, 2019.
We focused on giving health talks to the children and caregivers in the orphanage. We enjoyed the playful programs that we set up with the children. We visited two rural orphanages and one social welfare institute and we shared medical lectures and patient rounds in a local charity hospital.
God continues His blessings and His provision through the China West team. This year’s schedule allowed us to scout a new rural orphanage where no other medical teams have gone because of the high altitude of over 4300 meters. We realized the need and the opportunity in this new site, we will serve the children there next year. Our amazing God also paved a way for us to visit a local hospital and we were invited to provide our medical and dental services in the hospital and the hospital’s rural clinics next year.
Isaiah 55: 8-9 (NIV)
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, “declares the Lord.
“As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.”
Even though we didn’t provide medical and dental service on this year’s mission, we experienced firsthand how His ways and His thoughts are higher than ours. It is not about what we can do, but we witness what He will do in the China West mission.
We say, “Lord we are willing.”
We say, “You use our lives to proclaim Your love and Your wonders in the mission. Let Your will be done in our lives.”
We are willing to give up the rights we think we should have on the mission. We are willing to drop our pride, our professional degrees and pick up His cross to follow Him.
